Education is the supreme wealth among all kinds of wealth (Sant Kabir)
The founder of the Shri Krishnaswamy group Thiru M. A. Krishnaswamy was an educationist and a philanthropist. His vision to serve the society manifested in the form of Shri Krishnaswamy educational institutions. Furthering his noble vision Shri Krishnaswamy College for Women was established in the year 2010. From its humble beginning with 50 students to the present strength of 3000 students, the college has come a long way and has carved a niche for itself on the academic landscape of Chennai. The main aim of starting a women’s college was to build women of strong character and independent identity.
The college believes that the purpose of education is the holistic development of students- physical, mental, emotional and intellectual and spiritual. This is achieved by imparting value–based and student-centric education which polishes their skills and makes them INDUSTRY READY. The college also provides ample opportunities to students to showcase their talent, capabilities and creativity. The Krish Cultural, ED Bazaar, Annual sports and vocational training through MSME are signature activities of the college.
The recent accreditation by NAAC with B+ grade is a reflection of the relentless efforts of the Management & staff and their commitment to quality and inclusive education. It gives me immense pride to acknowledge that despite the disruption caused due to pandemic we at Shri Krishnaswamy College for Women are dedicated and committed to the cause of women empowerment through quality education by adopting modern tools of imparting knowledge. Together we want to mould women as empowered citizens with moral and academics excellence who will contribute to society.
I conclude my message with a famous quote by Angelina Jolie
“ There is no greater pillar of stability than a strong, free and educated women”
