EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

 

The ED CELL of the college was inaugurated in December 2011. Periodical seminars with successful entrepreneurs are organized to enable exchange of information and knowledge about industrial practices and information.

 

INDUSTRIAL VISITS  are organized each semester to enable the students to benefit from industry interface. In 2011 – 2012 industrial visits were organized to Hatsun Agro Foods (Arun Ice Creams), Cheiyar Sugar Mills and Arena Multimedia.

 

FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES are organized to keep the staff updated with subject knowledge to handle students’ problems empathetically and to upgrade their teaching and communicative skills besides personality development.

 

TAMIZH MANDRAM  of the college conducts intercollegiate and interdepartmental competitions (Quiz, Essay, Elocution, Mono Acting, Debate and Poetry)

 

CAREER GUIDANCE PROGRAMMES  are organized with industry personnel to create awareness about job prospects in the related area of study. Personality development, Communicative English and techniques to be followed to face interviews are also part of the extracurricular activities of the college.

 

EXTENSION ACTIVITIES – The college has a tie up with Fortis Malar Hospital, Lions Club Pasumpon, Pudiya Thalaimurai Foundation and SCARF to implement their community reach out programmes. Screening tests to identify gynaecological disorders among the teaching community of school and college were carried out. Career guidance programme aimed to help Higher Secondary Students pursue higher studies is part of the college annual practice.

 

A STATE LEVEL SEMINAR  was organized jointly with a professional body – the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) and a publication bearing ISBN number released with about 144 contributions.

 

AWARNESS PROGRAMES – The college periodically organizes awareness programmes to throw light on crucial areas of necessity like cancer, emergency medical aid and social related issues / areas of social interest.

 

PART TIME PLACEMENTS  are given to achieve the twin objectives of helping the students who are economically weak by providing them industrial exposure during their study period and to enable them to get full time employment prospects after the course completion.
